You’ve felt hatred.  You’ve felt heartache.  You’ve felt betrayed.  You’ve felt the anger that leads to self destruction.  You have not however, grasped the true concept of all these emotions being brought together so beautifully as they do on this album.  The Vladimirs newest release The Odds Are Against Us gives you that opportunity. 

 

The Odds Are Against Us is a dark album that sheds light on the parts of life many of us would like to disregard and not think about.  The musical talent and lyrical genius give this album a dark, yet somewhat familiar aura that leaves you feeling as if you’ve fallen and you try to save yourself, but your efforts are in vain.

 

The opening track “Nekromantik” has the classic Vladimirs sound and will have you ready and willing to sit back and lose yourself in the rest of the 17 track album.  With so many great songs on here, it’s hard to separate the good songs from the amazing songs, but I assure you, there are more amazing songs than good songs.  Some of the most amazing tracks on here are:

If you’ve ever felt anger, misery, despair, lost or just plain hopeless, this album has a song or two you could relate to.  The deepest and darkest of human emotion can be heard through one of rock’s most unique singers Marquis Thomas and splattered and spewed by the rest of one of the most talented bands around. Doug Nevels(bass and backing vocals), Brian Day(guitar and vocals), and brother of Marquis, Ash Thomas(drums, backing vocals) round out The Vladimirs.
